Bayfront is a quiet James Island neighborhood located off Folly Road and just minutes away from the James Island connector. Neighborhood streets include Inland, Patterson, Kemper and Brookbank Avenues as well as Sprague, Jordan and Bermuda Streets.
Homes in the Bayfront subdivision were built beginning in 1960, and newer homes built around 2006 can be found along with homes from almost every era in between. Nearly a peninsula, the neighborhood is surrounded on three sides by marsh and tidal creeks, affording homes in the area with gorgeous views and — for some Bayfront real estate that is on the waterfront — docks and deepwater access. The neighborhood is a mix of owner-occupied homes and rental properties, and Bayfront real estate prices can range anywhere from $160,000 to $400,000 depending on location and home size, age and amenities.
The neighborhood features a community park (Dock Street Park) that has a playground for children and a dock. The Harris Teeter grocery store is less than a mile from the neighborhood. Also less than a mile away are Lowe’s Home Improvement, Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union, Plantation Pharmacy, and an Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant are.
