Almost completely surrounded by marsh and lagoons, the Cedar Point neighborhood is nearly an island unto itself. It is accessible via Fort Johnson road, but you have to snake through several residential streets before you reach the Cedar Point neighborhood. Much of the Cedar Point real estate features waterfront property. The homes have docks and gorgeous views of Clarks Sound and the Morris Island Light.
Home prices vary, but can run anywhere from around $300,000 to almost $1 million. Cedar Point homes were built during numerous periods. There are some beautifully restored historic homes built in the 1800s. Other homes were built from the 1960s through the 2000s (one of the few areas in James Island where newer constructions can be found).
The beautiful old live oaks in the neighborhood are really impressive, and this is definitely one of the nicer areas of James Island. It is a little off the beaten track, and you’ll have to drive a little farther to get to the beach and other amenities, but for folks who enjoy small, quiet streets, nature and having a good-sized yard, Cedar Point is perfect.
