Located right off Harbor View Road, Harbor Place is a small James Island neighborhood consisting of one street — Harbor Place Drive — which ends in a cul-de-sac. The neighborhood comprises about 50 homes, most built in the 1990s. Homes range in price from around $200,000 to $300,000 and in size from 1,600 to 2,200 square feet. Some Harbor Place real estate is situated on the shores of the 24-acre, brackish Lake Francis.
Harbor Place is directly across Harbor View Road from a Piggly-Wiggly grocery store that has a Starbucks Coffee inside, a Bank of America ATM, a Chinese food restaurant and a unique American-Italian eatery, a First Federal Savings and Loan and a Lil’ Cricket gas station.
It is also less than two miles from the James Island connector, which gives access to MUSC, the College of Charleston, Marion Square and the rest of downtown Charleston, West Ashley and beyond. Folly Beach can be reached from Harbor Place in about 25 minutes.
